United States Post Office Who better to count on than the post office guys themselves? Using the following form, you can enter in an address, city and state and it'll give you the CORRECT address and zip-plus-four code. By correct, I mean it'll give you the "Street" or "Drive" or "Blvd" on the end as well as any "SE" or "NW." And to top it all off, it'll tell you if the address doesn't exist and if it turns out to be an apartment, it'll give you the full address for each individual apartment. Visit their page for more options, such as zip code to city/state, etc.

The Directory This directory has alot, but the coolest thing is the area code/prefix lookup. You pick any area code in the United States. Then you get a listing of every prefix in that state which tells you exactly what city the exchange is located in. While it could stand to be a little more accurate (I'd say it's about 90% accurate now) it's an excellent resource, especially since it seems to support ALL of the new area codes.

DataBase America Enter a phone number below in ###-###-#### format and this service will tell you who owns it. Usually only gets listed numbers.

Canada 411 Directory Lookup Not a very powerful search tool, but it's the best I can find so far for Canadian numbers and addresses.

Bigfoot.com A large directory of e-mail and people directory services.

AnyWho.com What makes this one so great is that it lets you pick a street name in any town and list all the residents on that street. This is great because you can call up the neighbors of the person you're looking for and quiz them. The following form works for residential but if you go to their site you can also look at business addresses. You don't have to fill out the first & last name fields, just the address and city will work.

The following anywho form will help you find out where an exchange is located. Simply enter the area code and prefix in the box and press SEARCH. You can use a dash to separate the area code and prefix like this: 618-254.

555-1212 This is just a big page of search directories that puts your query into about four different search forms but you still have to click on them each individually. Nice concept but poor design. Let's you search phone numbers, e-mail addresses and web pages.

Yahoo People Search Your basic phone directory. Just enter the last name with optional info and it should find their listing if they're listed.

First Name:
Last Name:
City:
State:(use 2-letter abbreviation)

Bigfoot E-mail Lookup This is a pretty good e-mail searching site. Just enter a name or alias into the form below and you'll get a good-sized list of matches.

411 This is one of the more popular search directories, used for finding phone numbers and addresses. Just fill out at least a last name below and hope for the best. If you've already used the Yahoo search (above), you'll probably get the same results since Yahoo uses this service. Make sure to only use an abbreviation for the state.

Sales Leads USAI was going to include the form for this service, but apparently they just use the forms from databaseamerica for their "free" lookup services. Oh well, this one has some mailing lists you can buy from them. Databaseamerica is listed further down...

InterNIC Ever wonder who owns a particular registered domain name? Enter the domain name into this form and you'll see the company or person's real name and mailing address along with other useful information such as who's providing them their domain service. Thanks to Logic Box for this gem. Since I can't get InterNIC's form to work correctly on my page, I'm using a company's called Tabnet.

Enter the domain to search for below and click submit. Be sure to include the .com, org, .net or whatever. (example: tomkinson.org)

WWW.

thelist.com Looking for someone in a particular city? This list shows just about every internet provider in any given city, lets you list by areas or search for specific servers. Great for figuring out what ISP your target is on.

MapQuest Enter any address in the United States and you'll get a map of that area with a dot showing exactly where the address is located. Let's you pan around & zoom in on areas. This thing rules.

E-mail address finding tools This is a page put up by Harvard, listing many e-mail searching tools and other useful net-finding links.

The Awesome List of All Internet Search Engines and Online Directories This is a huge list of supposedly everything.

Another one of those dumb phone directory things but this one has the advantage of looking up a business under the "type of business" catagory.

Fone Finder Put in an area code and prefix into this form and you'll find out the phone company, which switch it's out of and what city it's located in. Even if it's a cellular phone it'll tell you which cellular company owns the number.
